WASHINGTON, D.C. (Worthy News)– Last week the world learned that the latest Marvel superhero will be a Muslim!

According to the Examiner, the new comic character, Kamala Khan, will be a Pakistani American, but though Marvel has already portrayed Muslims as superheroes, Kamala Khan will be the first one to have her very own series.

Khan’s “superpower” will be a physical form of taqiyya — the Islamic practice of disguising one’s identity and beliefs — allowing her to change shape at will.

Slated for release early next year, the new series will be created in part by G. Willow Wilson, a Muslim who said it was important for her to portray Kamala as someone struggling with the Islamic faith.

Unfortunately, many Christians, Jews and Hindus also struggle with that faith as Muslims violently oppress other religions throughout the world.

However, Marvel has yet to create a sectarian superhero to save non-Muslims from Islamists.
