(Worthy News)– Last Sunday, jihadists exploded a bomb in Cairo and attacked a church in Alexandria, leaving one dead and seven others wounded.

According to Reuters, a car bomb that exploded on a bridge leading to Cairo’s Zamalek district killed a policeman while Muslims shot at the Church of the Angel Rafael in Alexandria, wounding one officer before fleeing the scene.

The two attacks were from an Islamic insurgency based in the Sinai Peninsula that has already killed hundreds after Egypt’s army removed President Mohamed Mursi in 2013.

Although most attacks have occurred in the Sinai, bombings are becoming more common in Cairo and other major Egyptian cities.
