I guess we are living in a faith for faith sake time in our history. It makes me think of Saint Paul's conversation with the Greeks in Athens. Paul found memorials to every god imagined, including an alter to an unknown god. He proceeded to tell them of this God. Some rejected his words and others accepted. None of these pagans were threatened by his account of only one true God to the point of censorship. He was given the freedom to speak his faith and convictions. We live in a country that has always championed personal freedoms of thoughts until now. After 2000 years of the gospel's circulation, Christ Jesus has again become a dirty word and offense to suppress. The stumbling block is abhorred by our culture. Our society will pride itself on all gains in social toleration and reasoning of its own absolutes. Jesus said there would be a time when good will be called evil and evil will be called good. Greeks and Romans evolved from paganism to Christian faith. Where does Western culture go when it has grown weary of Christ's gospel? They will create a god of their liking that makes no demands and has no commands. Self.

Hi WLW: please don’t think I am singling you out. I am addressing myself as well. I have an earnest intent and prompting from the Holy spirit to deliver this message, for the betterment of our walk upon this earth. Be of good cheer for he has overcome the world!!! Take this time of confusion as an opportunity to display Christian dignity and integrity and stop calling for the end of the world which just betrays a lack of fortitude in the face of the slightest sign of persecution.
As far as faith, Most of these posts display a lack of faith.
Don’t you trust God to bring the proper, fitting, just, and auspicious outcome to this?
There is ultimate power in prayer. The Holy Spirit can work in incredibly stealth and powerful ways.
Be prayerful, be a living epistle, and men will read you, and emulate our Lord and Savior.
Stop belly aching and caterwauling. Go into your prayer closet and shut the door.
Yes we believe you all know scripture and verse, But from this page there is little evidence of true faith in what it says. This can only culminate in degradation, and loss of opportunity to preach the most powerful sermon of our lives with our lives …Agape…Corvidillis

It is strikingly discordant when the prayers of the Lord Jesus and even those of the patriarchs whose lot in life was to love and lead as a true Sheppard a stiff-necked and materialistic people, on a hostile fallen planet, come into direct contrast with the sentiments that I hear coming out of the mouths of so called followers of Christ today.
Consider how Abraham bargained with his God to spare Sodom if one righteous man be found.
How frustrated Moses would plead his followers case seeking Gods mercy yet again for a people who continued to ridicule his leadership, How Christ wept at realizing the lack of faith in him at the tomb of Lazarus
his lament over Jerusalem. His prayers for his Disciples, just before his arrest and crucifixion.
Your heart should be broken for the hard of heart and un-repentant not vengeful.
Humble yourselves and seek his, face. He that said I would that none parish ! That is your true commission

While I know that Christian persecution isn't bizarre or un-Biblical, I certainly think that forcing chaplains not to pray using "God" or praying "in Jesus' name" is just ridiculous! Last time I checked, a chaplain was a sort of preacher/prayer for businesses and such. Apparently that's olde fashioned now. What a shame it is for these devout Christian men and women are having their Christian-based jobs narrowed down to a worldly, humanistic viewpoint. "...know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God." -James 4:4
It's only going to get worse from here, I'm afraid... But suffering for the cause of Christ is worthy suffering indeed! Stay strong, brothers and sisters, for all these "current" events are at least 2000 years old or more, and these events all point to the End Times. Come quickly, Lord Jesus! God bless, all!

The Lord said "Be still and know that I am God. Jesus is my savior and I will try to be still while standing firmly for Him. Everyday now seems to bring Him closer to us. How exciting! I like to remember the old hymns: 'What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see", "Great Gittin' Up
Mornin'". etc.

The Govenor has every reason to feel ashamed. The state of Florida, where I live' is the bible belt, the authority of Gods inspired word given to us in JESUS NAME, The Soverign authority, it's time we got proactive, calling Liberty Council' ACLJ and PRAYER. INTERCESSORY PRAYER.. Now is the time for you to decide which side of the line of the sand you wish to stand on. I am on the side that Jesus Christ is on.

cheri: I am glad that you included the line- "This is Biblical and fulfillment of prophecy."
It seems that If Pastor Hoye had of acted according to scripture, he would have obeyed the law of the land. He should have moved his protest as soon as the truth that the court had indeed changed the law became apparent. To disobey the police when all they did was ask him to relocate which they it seems was their legal responsibility is not in accordance with scripture. Not to say that I don't respect the good Pastors heart felt convictions.
As much as I am concerned with Judges that legislate from the bench, I loath to see well meaning Christians and others shoot them self in the foot over an insignificant issue such as this.
I'm sure the time is coming when we will be asked to put it on the line for what we believe. But right now we need to see what is purely emotionally driven and what has significant gravitas to effect a more rational and intelligent demeanor and face of Christianity. That being one that the average secular thinker can respect.
Did you ever stop and think that we cannot effect change in this country or this world without the cooperation of these. There are just not enough fundamentalist Christians to bring about this kind of change on their own.
The fact that you recognize these things as, " Biblical and fulfillment of prophecy." should go a long way to bring you peace and equanimity. This will help the cause...With good will...corvidillis

Klingenschmitt violates Christian principles by bearing false witness. He did NOT get court-martialed for "praying in Jesus name", he was prosecuted for deliberately disobeying direct orders and service regulations and attending a protest in full uniform. He proved himself unfit to wear the uniform.

Bring on the trials and tribulations! For this is the only way for adulteress America to be rudely awakened. The time draws nigh and the Lord is very jealous. Persecuted nations are consumed by great revival for His glory. We need to pray for an end to the arrogance of many in this nation. For if we don't end the arrogance, The Most High will by the means of tough His Love. Revive us Lord….Renew us through your tough love….Heal our land. Amen.

2 LORD, I have heard of your fame;
I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD.
       Renew them in our day,
       in our time make them known;
in wrath remember mercy. ~ Habakkuk 3:2
But if men are bound in chains,
held fast by cords of affliction,
9 he tells them what they have done—
       that they have sinned arrogantly.
10 He makes them listen to correction
and commands them to repent of their evil.
11 If they obey and serve him,
they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity
       and their years in contentment.
12 But if they do not listen,
they will perish by the sword [a]
and die without knowledge ~ Job 36:8-12
“if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” ~2 Chron. 7:14~

I would hate to think that I was in a position to be someone who hindered those coming to the LORD, because where more authority is given, more is required of them and they will answer. I ask GOD today to please change the leaders in government hearts and minds and be merciful and loving to those who are suffering and perishing. Help our vets and military LORD, Please! Thank You Father that you are in control every day and You have not left Your throne. Praise GOD the Father of our LORD JESUS CHRIST!!!!

Bethany,
I don't think we have any rights in this world. We should proclaim Christ no matter what they do to us. The persecuted church is much stronger than we are.

I am from the state of Virginia, Govenor Tim Kaine did not initially dismiss the Virginia State Trooper Chaplains, they quit in protest over his ruling. Later, it was also rumored some were dismissed; I believe it to be true. There is so much going on all over this nation right now, and the main stream media is not covering it.
Pastor Hoye in California was wrongfully arrested for standing in a previously legal area across from an abortion mill; the police showed up and informed him that the judge was changing the law as Pastor Hoye was standing there - he had to leave or be arrested. Worthy News is one of the few that is covering this story.
Do you realize that is happening all over America right now? Laws are being CHANGED AS CHRISTIANS ARE STANDING UP AGAINST THINGS.. that is illegal, against everything our country has been founded on.
I challenge everyone reading to get involved, dig deep - find out the real stories, what is really going on here in America. All people of "faith" are going to have to choose, get off the fence one way or the other. This is Biblical and fulfillment of prophecy.
Thank you for your time.
Your Sister In Jesus!!!!

I challenge everyone reading to get involved, dig deep – find out the real stories, what is really going on here in America. All people of “faith” are going to have to choose, get off the fence one way or the other. This is Biblical and fulfillment of prophecy.
Thank you for your time.
Your Sister In Jesus!!!!

Fight for rights?... or live it in spite of laws?

Even the word "God" is becoming offensive; "in Jesus' name" has cost jobs; and community "congregations" where non-believers who have no religious affiliation can gather are being established. What an age we live in. This article is worth reading.

I'm wrestling with the decision of whether we, as Christians and citizens of the US, should fight for rights to proclaim Jesus Christ freely or if we should let these laws be put in place and use the challenge as a way to strengthen our Christian lives and dedication to Christ. What do you think we should do? What would you do if your job and possibly more was on the line? Let me know what you think.
