As I read through the polling results of the election, there’s a huge disparity between Jews living in the U.S. and Jews living in Israel.

In the United States, Jews overwhelming voted for Barack Obama by a 3 to 1 margin.

The majority of Jewish voters in the US presidential election voted for the Democratic Party’s candidate, and now US president-elect, Barack Obama, Wednesday’s segmentation of the votes revealed.

According to the data, 78% of the Jewish voters in the US lent their vote to Obama while only 21% voted for his opponent, Republican Senator John McCain. - Source: YNet News

However, American Jews living in Israel overwhelming backed John McCain by a 3 to 1 margin.

American citizens who voted in the U.S. presidential elections via absentee ballots from Israel overwhelmingly favored Sen. John McCain, according to exit polls released Thursday. Seventy-six percent said they voted for the Republican candidate, while only 24 percent voted for the Democrat Barack Obama. - Source: Ha’aretz

If Israel had voted in the Presidential election, they would have voted for John McCain over Barack Obama.

The survey found that given the right to vote in the US, 46.4% of Israelis would vote for the Republican nominee, John McCain. Thirty-four percent would vote for Democratic nominee Barack Obama, and 18.6% remain undecided.

Almost half of those polled (48.6%) believe McCain would better impact Israel, while 31.5% thought the country would better benefit from Obama’s leadership.

The poll found McCain to be Israel’s best bet concerning Iran as well. Over half (52.5%) believe he possesses the skills needed to deal with the security threat the country poses to Israel, more so than Obama, who has gained the confidence of just 27.6% of those polled. Source: Ynet News

So now we’re seeing the huge differences between how Jews view the world in the United States and in Israel. Perhaps it’s because Jews living in Israel see on a daily basis the security threat whereas Jews in America have been lulled into a false sense of security.  Whatever the case, it’s obvious that within the Jewish population there’s a huge polarization occurring.

As I was reading the text of the bailout plan on the Wall Street Journal, there was a clause that just jumped out and I had to re-read because it was so outrageous.  Section 8 states:

Sec. 8. Review.

Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency.

The Secretary of the Treasury wants power to authorize $700 billion dollars to Wall Street, without any REVIEW and without any threat of being reviewed by a COURT OF LAW!  Is it me, or does this sound fishy?  Does it seem as if someone just trying to steal $700 billion dollars?

I received an email the other day, “What would you do if you were sitting in President Bush’s position concerning Iran?”  What a question!

But if I were sitting in the President’s position, the first thing I would do is strangle Iran economically!  Not only sanctions, but I would do all that I could to drive down the price of oil to the basement!   I would stress to the world, that the price of oil is not only threat to the economies of the world — but a global security threat!

I would present the case before the people of the U.S. and stress the need to drill and open all the avenues necessary to become energy independent.  If speculators knew the U.S. was preparing to drill — then oil prices would start plummeting!

Whether people realize it or not, just about every problem in the world is driven by dollars created by OIL!  Russia is becoming a bear again — because of its petroleum revenues!  Venezuela would throw its dictator out if their social programs collapsed because of the lack of revenue!  Dollars flowing out of Iran financing terrorism would dry up!  Think about it — it’s all because of OIL!  So those who think we shouldn’t drill, you’re actually preventing peace across the globe!

“Lord - Protect my family and me, Forgive me my sins, and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just. And make me an instrument of your will.”

Wow! What a nice prayer, and how well orchestrated it was printed in the Israeli press — and then how quickly it disseminated across the globe! What’s fascinating is what’s BEING IGNORED by the press!

The prayer was apparently leaked to the press BEFORE Obama placed it within the wall! Under threat of a lawsuit, the newspaper that published the prayer — Ma’ariv — stated that it collaborated with the Obama campaign to publish the prayer!

Apparently this is how the story went down. An Israeli lawyer named, Shahar Alon petitioned the Attorney-General Menahem Mazuz on Sunday to order police to open a criminal investigation against Ma’ariv.

Alon claimed the paper violated several clauses of the 1967 Preservation of Holy Sites Law as well as violating rights based on Basic Law - Respect for Man and his Freedom. Furthermore, Alon called for a consumer boycott of the newspaper until it published an apology to Obama.

At first, Ma’ariv tried defending its actions by arguing that since Obama is not a Jew, publishing his note was not an infringement of his privacy.

Then entered Western Wall’s Chief Rabbi, Shmuel Rabinovich called Ma’ariv’s actions ’sacrilegious’. He said,

“Notes which are placed in the Western Wall are between the person and his Maker; Heaven forbid that one should read them or use them in any way. The custom of placing notes between the stones of the Western Wall is ancient and is used as a means of expression by a person praying to his Creator. This sacrilegious action deserves sharp condemnation and represents a desecration of the holy site.”

Under a real threat of a boycott with Rabbi Rabinovich’s remarks being published - it was only then that Ma’ariv admitted it had coordinated its publication with the Obama campaign — even before Obama had put it on the wall!

Ha’aretz published today, “Obama’s note was published in Maariv and other international publications following his authorization to make the content of the note public. Obama submitted a copy of the note to media outlets when he left his hotel in Jerusalem.”

Amazing - it appears the Obama campaign released the prayer to the media BEFORE he placed it in the wall!

I believe this may be the first presidential campaign press release addressed to God instead of the voters!
