Serving and retired Christian military officers and men from 16 nations rounded off a West African Sub-Regional conference in Nigeria on Sunday, October 20 with a resolve to start a prayer revolution to take over their countries for God.

Meeting under the auspices of the Association of Military Christian Fellowships (AMCF), the Christian officers also agreed to be engaged in evangelical activities, especially soul winning, in military circles in their countries.

Members of the fellowship were urged to be prepared for personal, social, supernatural and physical battles always considering the various problems besetting various nations.

Speaking at the conference with the theme "A Living sacrifice for Christ", AMCF President General Lee Pil Su from South Korea, noted that prayer is the strongest means in spiritual warfare.

Many problems in the world require our prayers. We need to pray 24 hours daily for global peace to fulfil the injunction of praying without ceasing".

General Su urged Christian military personnel to be true living sacrifice for God by complying with all injunctions of the Christ.

He noted that it is important to analyze the military men and officers, as they are effective in furthering the good news.

Nigeria's Former head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (Rtd) who was the conference Chairman, implored participants to continue to serve the Lord and be a "Living sacrifice for Christ in life, work and being".

"The Military Christian should covet the provisions of Philippians 3:10- that I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings being made comfortable unto death" Gowon stated.

Bishop David Oyedepo of Faith Tabernacle, Cannanland, Otta, where the conference was hosted also urged Christians in the military to be sold out to God for them to be a true living sacrifice.

"To be distinguished Christians in the military, you have to be very dedicated to God and his worlds" Oyedepo stated.

Participants at the conference included delegates from Mali, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Togo, Chad and Benin Republic.

Cote d' Voir, Kenya, South Africa, United Kingdom and South Korea were also represented at the conference.

AMCF is an association of autonomous national military Christian fellowships (MCFs) and individual military Christians in nations, which do not have MCF.

It seeks to encourage servicemen and women of all nations to apply the teaching of Jesus Christ in their personal lives and in their professional responsibilities.

The next AMCF world conference holds in 2004 in Korea.
