LONDON,
ENGLAND (ANS) -- London's Premier Christian Radio
Chairman David Heron has just received word from the Radio Authority in Britain that they
have approved Premier's license application. This means that after months of waiting,
during which time hundreds of thousands of people have been praying for the station's
future, the go-ahead has finally been given for Premier Christian Radio to continue
broadcasting until at least 2011.
On hearing the Radio Authority's decision, Premier's managing director, Peter Kerridge
said: "We are delighted to have received this fantastic news! Premier's listeners,
supporters and staff have been working and praying very hard to get us to this position.
We now just want to thank and praise God that he has blessed us with another eight years
of broadcasting."
In an e-mail sent out immediately to Premier supporters around the world, Peter sent out
his own message of thanks to all those who have supported the license renewal bid. He also
promised that in the very near future he would "outline the steps that we must now
take to bring Christian radio to the rest of the UK."
The positive outcome ends months of speculation over the future of Medium Wave Christian
radio in the UK. Premier is now allowed to broadcast on its three London MW frequencies
for another eight years (from 2003), and will continue to transmit on both Sky Digital and
the World Wide Web.
