Washington, D.C. (Worthy News)
George W. Bush received a petition from Christians from across
America encouraging him to stop his involvement in the land for
peace process in Israel.
The petition with over 25,00 signatures, was initiated by Worthy News who
was assisted by several other Christian organizations such as: Koenigs International News, Bridges for Peace and the International Christian Zionist
Center. The petition presented the Biblical
foundation for supporting the nation of Israel and showed the importance of not
parceling Israel's covenant land.
The petition was not originated as a political document, but a biblically
based document that emphasizes what the Bible says about the land
of Israel, said George Whitten, editor of Worthy News. It is our hope
that the petition will touch the President in a unique way; that the President will
better understand the eternal significance of the decisions he is making.
Bill Koenig, one of co-sponsors of the petition, added, We as Americans are very
concerned about it [the Roadmap for Peace agreement], for his sake, for our nations sake
and for the sake of the nation of Israel. And we call on our President not to be
a participant in the "land for peace" process.
We call on believers throughout the world to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and
for peace in the Middle East, Whitten concluded.
I Stand with Israel Petition
To: George W. Bush, President of the United States
WHEREAS we the undersigned recognize the Bible as the Word of God, eternal, unchanging,
and of the authority of God. (2 Timothy 3:16)
WE AFFIRM the steadfast and permanent love of God for Israel and the Jewish people, as
clearly declared in the Word of God. (Jeremiah 31:3)
WE AFFIRM the Abrahamic Covenant as stated in the Bible, which declares that those people,
nations and leaders, who bless Israel shall be blessed, and those who curse her, shall be
cursed. (Genesis 12:3; Zechariah 12:2-9)
WE AFFIRM the eternal covenant of God to Israel, and His promise and giving of the land of
Israel to the Jewish people as their everlasting homeland, now and always as declared by
His Word. (Genesis 17:7-9)
WE AFFIRM the regathering of the Jewish people to their ancient homeland and the rebirth
of Israel as ordained and prophesied in the Scriptures, accomplished by His hand, and thus
the right and Biblical mandate of Israel to exist in the land of Israel. (Ezekiel 36 and
37; Isaiah 11:11-12)
WE AFFIRM Jerusalem as the undivided eternal capital of Israel, and the biblical warning
that any seeking to move or divide it shall do so at their peril. (Joel 3:16-21)
WE AFFIRM the resolve of Israeli citizens to stand and defend themselves against the
onslaught of terror arrayed against them.
WE AFFIRM the call of God for all nations and governments, including all those of the Arab
world, to recognize the right of Israel to exist, by His decree. (Zechariah 2:8)
WE AFFIRM our steadfast support of Israel, to exist, to thrive, and to defend her people
against all that is arrayed against her.
THEREFORE WE PETITION the President and the United States Government to unequivocally
support the state of Israel in her right to exist, in her struggle against terrorism, in
her God given right to her land, and to Jerusalem, to stand unmoved, undivided, as her
capital, her eternal city.
Mr. President, as a professing Christian, do you want to be remembered throughout all
eternity as the man who divided Gods land against His promise? (Joel 3:2) - The one
who divided God's city? (Zechariah 12:1-3) - The one who touched the apple of God's eye
and compromised its security? (Zechariah 2:8) Or do you want to be remembered throughout
all eternity as the man that stood resolutely, boldly and uncompromised with God's nation
Israel, undeterred by world opinion?
