French journalist Claude Vorilhon is known for introducing "Raelism" to the
world. Mr. Vorilhon claims he was contacted by UFO's on December 13, 1973 when his
extraterrestrial visitors named him "Rael." During this time of supposed
contact, the alien life forms told "Rael" that mankind was ready to learn the
truth of the mysteries of man's origin. Vorilhon claims his alien contacts gave him a
mission to prepare mankind for their return and to establish an embassy to initiate
contact with mankind.
The French journalist also alleges these alien life forms introduced themselves as
"The Elohim." "Elohim" is one most common Hebrew names of God recorded
in the Old Testament. Beginning in the creation account of Genesis 1:1, Scripture reveals
God by this name 2,750 times: "In the beginning God (Elohim) created the heaven and
the earth" (1:1). The biblical translation means "the One True God" and
even carries with it the sense of plurality, "the divine ones," speaking of the
Trinity. The Raelian Movement claims that the use of the word 'Elohim' means 'those who
came from the sky.'
To date, Vorilhon's claimed "Elohim messages" have been translated into 25
languages and his "Raelism" constituants are said to number over 55,000 in 84
countries. Taking his mission upon them, they have been training and organizing themselves
over the past three decades to properly introduce "The Elohim" to society.
Raelism claims "The Elohim" have stated their need for an embassy large enough
to house 144,000 people where they can "interact with the human race
intimately." They are also said to have expressed their desire to have the embassy
located in Jerusalem. According to Rael, "The Elohim" Embassy is the "true
meaning of the Third Temple," and will provide the place where Yahweh Elohim will be
welcomed and live among humans.
The message of 'The Elohim' through Rael
It was "The Elohim" who founded all the major religions in the first place,
claims Rael, choosing each of their ambassadors to guide mankind and to raise each
person's level of consciousness. Other teachings allege that once the aliens' embassy is
established, The Elohim will bring back all the great prophets alive and well as predicted
in their respective religions. According to the alien's message to Rael, life on earth was
not the result of random evolution or the work of a supernatural God. It was a deliberate
creation performed by The Elohim using DNA to create what Rael's extraterrestrials term as
"scientific creationism." Rael's teachings also claim that mankind was so
mystified by The Elohim in the beginning that they were adored as gods. So the aliens
educated humanity by founding each of the world's religions so mankind could embrace
"The Elohim" when they return back to the earth.
Because those involved in Raelism believe that they were created by alien life forms, they
are major proponents of human cloning, believing that cloning will unleash the tremendous
potential to aid in the growth of humanity.
What is the truth behind Raelism?
The Bible declares that in the last days there would be a vast deception so great that if
it were possible even the elect would be deceived.
Jesus said, "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew
great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very
elect" (Matt. 24:24).
Pauls tells us the deception will be so great and the delusion so powerful that men and
women will be deceived into believing a lie: "Let no man deceive you by any means:
for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin
be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is
called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing
himself that he is God. Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all
power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them
that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in
unrighteousness (2 Thess. 2:3-4, 9-12).
Could it be possible that Rael's deception will be incorporated by the antichrist to
present himself "in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God"?
Will the antichrist incorporate Rael's deception to delude his believers in the world?
Will he promote "The Elohim's" embassy showing himself to be Elohim? Only time
will tell, but the gospel remains the same.
