Free Syrian Army Massacre Christian Village

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (Worthy News)– Another massacre reportedly carried out by Free Syrian Army militants has targeted the residents of al-Duwayr/Douar, a Christian village close to the city of Homs and near Syria’s border with Lebanon, according to Syria Report.

Around 350 armed militants forcefully entered the homes of Christian families who were all rounded-up in the main square of the village and then summarily executed.

Syrian army sources said they only reached the village after the massacre, resulting in clashes with militants who included both Turkish and Chechens jihadis.

The situation for Syria’s religious minorities have become increasingly worse as Free Syrian Army affiliated Islamist organizations are free to engage in ethnic cleansing operations in a country where kidnappings, executions and assassinations have become all too commonplace.

This latest massacre received little media attention because it happened at the same time as thousands of pro-government Syrian troops attacked the rebel occupied town of al-Qusayr where insurgents had already desecrated St. Elias Roman Catholic Church, according to the Religious Freedom Coalition.

Al-Qusayr had served as a supply depot for the Free Syrian Army and was first stop for jihadists coming into Syria from Lebanon.
