(Worthy News) – Police are investigating bombs that were placed next to three churches in New Mexico.

According to the Christian News, on Aug. 2 police responded to an explosion at Calvary Baptist Church in Las Cruces after a bomb detonated inside a nearby mailbox; the force of the explosion threw the mailbox more than 100 feet.

“A house of worship should be a place of peace; making the act of violence especially troubling for us all,” Pastor Kevin Glenn posted on Facebook. “Only our Lord is able to provide ultimate security to each of us through Jesus Christ. However, in our daily lives we must be wise and vigilant to do everything possible to provide an environment within which all can feel both welcome and secure.”

In other words, if you see something, say something.

Earlier that same morning, another bomb hidden in a garbage can near the front door of a Roman Catholic church was detonated while its congregation was celebrating Mass.

Last week, a pipe bomb was discovered outside of a Presbyterian church. The bomb had been inserted inside a sprinkler box near the church’s front door.

A high school was placed on lockdown and local businesses were evacuated while authorities safely detonated the device .
