(Worthy News) – Only hours after its assembly voted last month against making Nepal a Hindu state, bombs damaged two churches in Jhapa district.

According to Barnabas Aid, bombs were were also planted in two other churches, but one failed to detonate and the other exploded after it was moved to a police station.

Leaflets from a Hindu nationalist group were discovered at the churches where all the bombs had been planted.

According to Article 4 of the Nepalese constitution, Nepal remains a secular state. But religious freedoms have been curtailed in Article 26, which prohibits its citizens from changing their religion and punishes those who would attempt to convert anyone from it.
