(Worthy News) – A family that fled the violence in the Middle East only to to return to Iraq after being persecuted by Syrian Islamists in a refugee camp in Freising is just one example of how badly Christians are being treated by Muslims in Germany.

According to Barnabas Aid, a young Syrian in Giessen left when Muslims threatened him with verses from their Quran, and in the town of Hemer, Algerian refugees attacked an Eritrean Christian and his pregnant wife.

Joshua — a Christian living in Germany who fled from persecution in Pakistan — said that life in the refugee camps are not that different from life back in his home country.

“Ninety-eight percent of asylum seekers there are Muslims and they threaten me, call me a Kufr, an unbeliever,” he said. “I’m afraid there, very afraid. Mostly I stay in my room.”

In Berlin, Pastor Gottfried Martens assists Christians who had to leave their German asylums because of the constant barrage of threats from Muslim refugees.

“Our Christian refugees are experiencing much oppression in the homes,” he said. “They are abused, ostracized and even physically attacked.”

Martens said that devout Muslims believe that wherever they are, there is also Islamic law. As a result, authorities in Thuringia state now separate refugees according to their religion as soon as they arrive. Other states may soon follow suit, but if this is the situation in Germany, how much worse is it for Christians in the refugee camps of the Middle East?
