Al Shabaab Kills Christians in Kenyan Coastal Town

MPEKETONI, KENYA (Worthy News)– Somalian militants of Islam’s Al Shabaab attacked a predominantly Christian town on Kenya’s coast Sunday night, selectively killing more than 50 Christian males, according to Morning Star News.

After dark, about 50 armed militants attacked two hotels and a police station in Mpeketoni, about 50 miles from the Somali border. Al Shabaab reportedly took responsibility for the attack and claimed that it was in response to Kenya’s military intervention in Somalia.

Haram militants reportedly went door-to-door asking residents about their religion and murdered them if they weren’t Muslims, or couldn’t recite verses from the Koran. When the killing was over, the Islamists fled into the Boni Forest with police in pursuit.
