(Worthy News) – A new nationwide annual poll reveals that young adults in the U.S., ages 18-24, are increasingly adopting pro-life positions, showing greater support for restrictions on abortion.

Conducted by the Demetree Institute for Pro-Life Advancement YouGov/Survey USA, the 2025 Poll shows that 67% of young American adults reject complete deregulation of abortion in favor of some restrictions on the procedure, up from 65% last year.

Only 9% of those polled were in favor of no restrictions on abortion to allow the procedure “at any time during pregnancy.” This finding was down from 10% last year.

Other findings were listed as follows:

  • “19%: Abortion should never be legal. (Up from 18% in 2024);
  • 22%: Abortions should not be legal after a heartbeat is confirmed, usually around 6-7 weeks. (The Same as 2024 at 22%)
  • 19%: Abortion should be legal only in the first three months/12 weeks of pregnancy. (Up from 16% in 2024);
  • 18%: Abortion should be legal prior to viability (when the fetus can survive outside the womb), usually after 21 weeks. (Up from 17% in 2024);
  • 13%: Abortion should be legal at any time during pregnancy. (DOWN from 17% in 2024).”

“Media and political leaders often claim that this critical demographic, now almost HALF (48.5%) of the electorate, are solidly on the side of abortion, the study authors wrote. “The facts tell a different, nuanced story.”
