AMMAN/ WASHINGTON (Worthy News) – U.S. President Donald J. Trump told Jordan’s King Abdullah visiting the White House on Tuesday that he still wants to take over Gaza and move its population of two million Palestinians to other nearby countries, including Jordan.

Yet the king, sitting alongside Trump, announced Amman would take in “2,000 sick children,” including cancer patients, from Gaza, as he sought to please the president, who threatened to withhold aid if Jordan disagreed with his plan.

The figure proposed by Abdullah amounts to roughly 0.1 percent of the Gaza Strip’s population, but Trump praised the gesture.

Despite controversy over Trump’s plan to make Gaza the “Riviera of the Middle East,” King Abdullah suggested that the real estate mogul-turned-president could bring peace to the Middle East.

“I truly believe, with all the challenges that we have in the Middle East, that I finally see somebody that can take us across the finish line to bring stability, peace, and prosperity to all of us in the region,” the king stressed.

Abdullah said he would await the outcome of Egypt’s emergency Arab summit on February 27, held in response to Trump’s call to expel Palestinians from Gaza and rebuild the enclave after the devastating Israel-Hamas war there.
