KIRYAT GAT/GAZA (Worthy News) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) in Kiryat Gat on Wednesday, meeting with top Israeli and American commanders to review ongoing coordination under President Donald Trump’s Gaza outline — even as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) resumed enforcing the fragile ceasefire following new Hamas violations.
Netanyahu was joined by U.S. CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper and General Patrick Frank, along with IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir. The visit underscored Israel’s continued partnership with the United States in implementing the Trump-backed plan to disarm Hamas and demilitarize Gaza — a vision Netanyahu said aims to create “a different Gaza.”
“We want to ensure that the goal President Trump and I agreed on — disarming Hamas and demilitarizing Gaza — is ultimately achieved,” Netanyahu said at the CMCC. “There is a real effort here in cooperation, with security being maintained in our own hands.”
The prime minister emphasized that the first phase of the plan centers on preserving Israeli security and operational freedom, with subsequent stages addressing reconstruction, governance, and humanitarian aid. “The first component is security — maintaining our forces and freedom of action. This is fundamental,” he said.
Netanyahu praised joint Israeli-American coordination for producing “results that amazed the world,” citing covert operations against Iranian targets and the successful rescue of hostages from Gaza. “President Trump said it simply,” Netanyahu added. “Either we achieve it the easy way, or we achieve it the hard way — but we will achieve it.”
Ceasefire Reinstated After Strikes
Shortly after Netanyahu’s visit, the IDF confirmed that it had resumed enforcing the ceasefire following a wave of retaliatory airstrikes against Hamas.
“In accordance with the directive of the political echelon, and following a series of strikes in which dozens of terrorist targets and terrorists were struck, the IDF has begun renewed enforcement of the ceasefire in response to Hamas’s violations,” the military said in a statement.
The IDF and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) said they eliminated over 30 terrorists “holding command positions” across the Gaza Strip, warning that any further aggression would be met with “firm response.”
Defense Minister Israel Katz vowed that Hamas leaders would not be spared. “There is and will be no immunity for any of the leadership of the Hamas terrorist organization — neither those wearing suits nor those hiding in tunnels,” he declared. “Whoever raises his hand against IDF soldiers, his hand will be cut off.”
Hamas Sniper Kills Israeli-American Soldier
The escalation came after Hamas sniper fire killed Master Sergeant (Res.) Yona Efraim Feldbaum, 37, an Israeli-American serving in the IDF Combat Engineering Corps. Feldbaum fell in combat in southern Gaza on Tuesday, the Israel Foreign Ministry confirmed.
The IDF said Hamas also staged a false recovery of remains in Gaza, using the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to legitimize a “fabricated discovery.” The ICRC later condemned the act, saying its team “was unaware that a deceased person had been placed there prior to their arrival.”
Meanwhile, Hamas fighters were reportedly caught attempting to retrieve a weapons cache hidden in a mosque within an IDF-controlled area. The group crossed the “Yellow Line” — the demarcation zone established under the U.S.-brokered ceasefire — before being intercepted by an IDF drone and detained.
Toward a ‘Different Gaza’
Officials at the CMCC said discussions with American counterparts focused on securing long-term stability in Gaza once Hamas is fully neutralized. Netanyahu described the effort as part of a broader U.S.-Israel strategy to “reshape the post-conflict reality” and ensure the coastal enclave can no longer threaten Israel’s borders.
“We are working with our American friends and regional partners to create a Gaza that will no longer pose a threat — a Gaza that is secure, stable, and no longer ruled by terror,” Netanyahu said.
