Israel’s Strategy Targeting Iranian Checkpoints May Open Door for Internal Uprising

(Worthy News) – Israel’s expanding military campaign inside Iran is now focusing on key pressure points within the regime’s internal control system—specifically targeting checkpoints and street-level enforcement units—in what analysts believe could open the door for a broader uprising against the Islamic government, according to an exclusive report by the Epoch Times.

Rather than limiting operations to nuclear facilities or conventional military assets, Israeli strikes have increasingly targeted checkpoints operated by the Basij militia, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and police forces. These networks have long functioned as the regime’s most immediate and visible instruments of control over the population.

For decades, such checkpoints have been embedded throughout daily life—positioned at intersections, highways, and neighborhoods—where citizens could be stopped, questioned, or punished with little warning. The system created not only physical control, but a constant psychological pressure that reinforced the regime’s authority at every level of society.

Now, according to the Epoch Times report, Israel’s strategy appears to be shifting toward dismantling these “tools of repression” at the street level. Coordinated strikes in recent days have hit multiple Basij positions across Tehran, with reports indicating that more than ten checkpoint locations were targeted within a short timeframe.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has suggested that weakening these enforcement structures could create conditions for Iranians themselves to act. Analysts say this reflects a broader strategic objective: reducing the regime’s ability to suppress protests while maintaining aerial dominance, particularly through drone surveillance.

Experts cited in the report note that such aerial presence could play a dual role—both degrading regime capabilities and potentially providing a level of deterrence against retaliation if demonstrations return to the streets.

There are already signs that the pressure is having an effect. Videos circulating داخل Iran show security forces reducing their visibility, relocating checkpoints to more concealed areas, and reacting cautiously—even fearfully—to perceived drone threats. In some cases, civilians have reportedly triggered panic among Basij personnel simply by playing the sound of drones.

This marks a striking reversal from years past, when checkpoints symbolized the regime’s unquestioned authority. Instead, the same forces that once projected dominance are now showing signs of vulnerability.

Despite this shift, analysts caution that the broader power structure of the Islamic Republic remains intact. The IRGC and its allied networks still possess significant resources and could adapt by intensifying repression or drawing on regional proxy forces.

Yet the strategic trajectory is becoming clearer.

By targeting the regime’s street-level enforcement system, Israel is not only engaging in military operations—it is attempting to alter the internal balance of power within Iran itself. If sustained, this approach could lower the barrier of fear that has long prevented widespread protest.

Whether this moment will lead to a full-scale uprising remains uncertain. But as the Epoch Times exclusive underscores, a critical shift is underway:

The mechanisms of control that once kept Iran’s population in check are now under direct and sustained pressure—raising the possibility that the next phase of this conflict may unfold not just in the skies, but in the streets.

Possible Prophetic Fulfilment?

From a prophetic perspective, the developments unfolding inside Iran echo the ancient words spoken in Book of Jeremiah concerning Elam — widely understood by many scholars to encompass parts of modern-day Iran. In Jeremiah 49:35–39, the Lord declares that He will “break the bow of Elam,” symbolizing the dismantling of its military and ruling strength, and scatter its people before the nations. The passage also speaks of fear coming upon its leaders and the removal of authority structures that once governed with power and control. Yet the prophecy does not end in judgment. It carries a redemptive promise: “In the latter days I will restore the fortunes of Elam.”

This dual pattern—shaking followed by restoration—offers a striking lens through which to view current events. What appears as the weakening of internal enforcement, the unsettling of power structures, and the erosion of authority may also be part of a larger divine unfolding. The removal of oppressive systems and the humbling of rulers can precede a season where a nation is repositioned for revival. In that light, even turmoil can carry the seeds of hope—that beyond the breaking of strength and the displacement of leaders, there is a promised restoration in which God’s purposes ultimately prevail.
