WASHINGTON/JERUSALEM (Worthy News) – President Donald Trump sought to reassure Israel on Wednesday as renewed fighting between the United States and Iran raised fears of a broader regional escalation, saying Israel “should not worry” and predicting the conflict with Tehran would not last much longer.

“Israel should not worry,” Trump said in a phone interview with an Israeli broadcaster. “You know why? Because I’m the president and I will take care of Israel.”

The remarks came after a fresh round of U.S.-Iran clashes centered around the Strait of Hormuz, the strategic waterway that carries a major share of the world’s oil traffic. According to regional reports, U.S. forces struck Iranian military equipment near the strait after Tehran’s forces moved to rebuild surveillance and defensive systems previously destroyed by American strikes.

Asked in the Oval Office how long the latest escalation might continue, Trump answered, “Not too long,” adding that he did not believe Iran could endure the pressure much longer.

“I don’t think it will be very much longer. I don’t know how much more they can take,” Trump said.

Trump also warned that Washington remains ready to hit Iranian targets again if necessary, saying the U.S. had carried out a “very heavy attack” and could launch another strike “anytime” it chooses.

The renewed confrontation follows months of tension between Washington, Jerusalem and Tehran over Iran’s nuclear program, ballistic missile development and attempts to threaten international shipping lanes. While Iran has reportedly targeted U.S. positions and regional allies in the latest wave of retaliation, it has not yet directly struck Israel during this round.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Israel is prepared for both defense and offense in coordination with the United States, warning that Tehran could still decide to open another front against the Jewish state.

“If they attack because of Lebanon, because of Samaria, because of Gaza, or simply because they feel like it, our planes are ready to take off,” Katz said.

Trump rejected suggestions that the approaching U.S. midterm elections are shaping his Iran policy, arguing that Republican voters understand the need to stop Tehran from obtaining nuclear weapons even if the confrontation temporarily raises fuel prices.

For Israel, the message from Washington was direct: the United States intends to remain engaged, Iran remains under pressure, and any attempt by Tehran to widen the war could bring a swift military response.

Yet the deeper reality remains unchanged. The Middle East is once again watching Iran test the resolve of Israel and America, while the nations surrounding the Persian Gulf brace for the next move in a conflict that has already reached far beyond Tehran.
