Pakistan: Fatwa approves polio vaccine, but …

By Joseph DeCaro, Worthy News Correspondent

ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN (Worthy News)– The fatwa council of Pakistan finally issued a ruling that giving polio vaccine to children is not forbidden by Islam, according to the PakTribune.

Apparently Islamic “scholars” have just realized that polio drops don’t contain anything harmful and that vaccination isn’t contrary to Sharia since both the Quran and Sunnah command Muslims to provide proper medication for their children.

And since poliomyelitis — an acute viral disease that infects and inflames the spinal cord, resulting in paralysis — is incurable, and as Pakistan is among several Islamic states where polio is still endemic, parents are now being urged to have their children vaccinated.

However, the Darul Afta fatwa council also demanded that the UN pass laws to prevent the international healthcare organizations that distribute these vaccines to stop spying on Muslims.

The fatwa council condemned the actions of Shakil Afridi, the Pakistani physician who helped the CIA track and kill Osama bin Laden. As a result, Muslims in the tribal regions of Pakistan have refused to allow polio drops for their children to protest Afridi’s cooperation with the West!

That protest only proves the timeless observation of the late Golda Meir who said: “We will have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us.”
