Barack Obama Ready to Act on Immigration Alone (Video)

WASHINGTON D.C. (Worthy News)– President Barack Obama announced he’s ready to “act on his own” on immigration reform as he revealed plans for using his executive power to make sweeping changes to the nation’s immigration system.

“I’m beginning a new effort to fix as much of our immigration system as I can on my own, without Congress,” the President said from the Rose Garden.

The President said, “as we speak there are enough Republicans and Democrats to pass an immigration bill today, I would sign it into law today.”

However, he blamed Congress for the problems at the border as he accused Republicans for obstructing immigration reform over the past year.

The President faces pressures from all sides for the humanitarian crisis, from Republicans who blame his policies for the recent surge of illegal immigrants — many of whom are unaccompanied children — and from immigrant advocates who say he’s done too little for their cause.

Since October, over 52,000 illegal minors have entered the United States.
