CAR: Revenge attacks against Christians

By Joseph DeCaro, Worthy News Correspondent

(Worthy News) – The bodies of more than 30 Christians were left outside a church in the Central African Republic capital of Bangui in retaliation for the deaths of three Muslims who were ambushed in October by so-called Christian militia.

According to Barnabas Aid, the Red Cross was prevented from collecting the bodies, which were left in a mass grave dug by their Muslim murderers in front of the church.

Thousands have died since Muslim Seleka militias had seized power in the Christian-majority country in 2013. But after months of killing, raping, and looting, armed anti-balaka militias rose up to oppose Seleka.

CAR churches have strongly condemned the violent actions of the anti-balaka, which have been misidentified by the media as Christian militia.
