Ugandan Pastor Hacked to Death

(Worthy News) – A pastor in Uganda was hacked to death last week when he objected to having his church’s property stolen by members of a nearby mosque.

According to Morning Star News, Pastor Bongo Martin of the Pentecostal Church Ministry in Nansololo village, Namudumba District, was killed after he argued against a barb wire fence built by the mosque’s Muslims on Pentecostal property.

When Martin asked why the mosque had removed his building’s boundary markers, their imam replied that he didn’t want the church too close as it was attracting Muslims to Martin’s ministry. Another Muslim then drew a sword and repeatedly struck the pastor’s neck until he was decapitated.

Martin’s headless corpse was thrown into a nearby river. He is survived by a widow with two children.

Church documents prove that the Pentecostal ministry had legally purchased the land for 3.4 million Uganda shillings (US$1,000). The ministry had planned to establish an orphanage in Nansololo, but that project has been suspended indefinitely.
