(Worthy News) – Certain of Israel’s Sunni Arab neighbors are experiencing a warming toward Israel as some are beginning to talk about a “new alliance” and a “new narrative” in the Middle East.

UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed recently retweeted an article from the Spectator subtitled “an Israeli-Arab alliance” which describes the about-face gulf Arab states are making toward their Jewish neighbor.

In the article, Ed Husain writes that the general perception among Sunni countries is that “with an assertive Iran and an uninterested West, the Arabs and Jews have a shared interest,” quoting a comment at a recent closed-door meeting by an Arab prince.

“Who else will fly in joint missions against Iranian targets with us?” the prince reportedly asked.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the retweet of the UAE Foreign Minister and other recent signs of a thaw in relations “the direct result of our policy, which has turned Israel into a rising power in the region and the world.”
