(Worthy News) – A publically known pro-life activist has said he was beaten up by a group of Portland rioters wearing Antifa-style “black bloc” clothing, the Christian Post reports. Tayler Hansen, who founded the “Baby Lives Matter” movement, tweeted on Wednesday that he had been attacked in Portland the night before during the ongoing unrest in the city.

Hansen, who is also an independent journalist, is known for painting the words “BABY LIVES MATTER” outside abortion clinics across the country. He had also been covering the protests and rioting in Portland in the days leading up to the attack, the Christian Post reports.

Posting about the attack, Hansen wrote on Twitter Wednesday: “Last night in Portland I was beaten bloody by four people in Black Bloc (a strategy used by activists who wear black clothing/facial coverings to make it difficult to identify them and to protect their eyes against pepper spray and tear gas).” Hansen’s post was accompanied by a photo of himself with a swollen cheek and lower lip and a bloodied wound on his chin.

Hansen then went on to tweet about the incident in more detail: “It started with a press-member recognizing me, he proceeded to get his phone to show a group of Black Bloc what I believe to be my Instagram. I fled and changed my disguise, and returned once they had arrived at a different location.” Hansen goes on to explain that two “suspicious” looking men then called out to him by name.

“I began walking away,” Hansen continued. “A few blocks down there was a group of four dressed in Black Bloc waiting for me around the corner. They proceeded to beat me. I was punched in the face, thrown on the ground where they began kicking me in the back and hitting me in the face again.” As the attackers ran off, Hansen said, one of them shouted at him: “Stay out of Portland b****!”
