New Survey: Over half of Americans claim to have Biblical worldview but most don’t believe what the Bible teaches

(Worthy News) – A new survey conducted last month shows that while 51 percent of Americans claim to have a Biblical worldview, the percentage of those who actually believe what the Bible teaches is much lower, CBN News reports. The survey was carried out by the Family Research Council’s Center for Biblical Worldview among 1000 adults across the country.

According to the survey, 44 percent of Millennials say they have a biblical worldview but only four percent actually do, CBN reports. Among Gen Xers, 53 percent claim a biblical worldview, but just six percent really do.

The poll found that 54 percent of Baby Boomers claim a biblical worldview but only 8 percent actually do. Moreover, 62 percent of Elders (people over 75 old) say they have a biblical worldview but only nine percent do.

The survey also found notable differences among diverse ethnicities. The poll shows that 63 percent of Blacks claim a Biblical worldview, but only five percent do; 59 percent of Hispanics say they have a Biblical worldview, but only three percent do. Among Whites, 48 percent said they have a Biblical worldview, but only seven percent really do; 45 percent of Asians claim a Biblical worldview, but just four percent actually do.

The survey additionally showed that 70 percent of US adults believe God does or might exist, with 78 percent believing God cares “a lot” about people and society.
