(Worthy News) – The One Million Moms (OMM) activism group has launched a public petition calling on the Eli Lilly pharmaceutical company to remove an ad in which it is asserted that gender is “randomly assigned at birth.”

A division of the American Family Association, OMM was established to “give moms an impact with the decision-makers and let them know we are upset with the messages they are sending our children.”

The group has now raised serious concerns about a recent Lilly ad that features a woman with a double mastectomy who identifies as a man, and in which the taglines are: “We make medicine, not just for some, but for everyone…Because the body you are randomly assigned at birth shouldn’t determine how well you are cared for.”

Taking action, OMM has launched a petition on their website, calling for Lilly to remove the commercial. “Can you imagine what goes through the mind of a child when he or she sees this ad?” OMM asks in an article encouraging parents to sign the petition. “Lilly chose to air this commercial knowing it would be controversial. We all know children imitate what they see and repeat what they hear. Lilly needs to know that parents do not approve of this advertising tactic!”

More than 17,000 people have signed the petition, which says: “ From One Million Moms to Lilly, I’m not buying into your social agenda to push transgenderism. Your latest ad offends me and many other conservative consumers. I won’t be buying your products either. I’m taking Lilly off my shopping list since I will be purchasing from your competitors instead. Please stick to making medicine, not political and social statements.”
