TEHRAN/JERUSALEM (Worthy News) – Iran has finalized a deal to buy Russia’s Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jets in a deal due to raising concerns in Israel, Worthy News monitored Sunday.

Tehran has increased ties with Moscow in various sectors, including the military, in the past year.

Moscow will deliver the fighter aircraft at a moment when sanctions-hit Iran has an aging fleet of airplanes and struggles to acquire spare parts to keep its warplanes in the air.

“Moscow is ready to deliver the fighter jets to Iran,” the country’s mission to the United Nations was quoted as saying by the official IRNA news agency.

“Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jets were technically approved by the Iranian aviation experts, and therefore… Iran finalized the contract to buy those planes,” the agency added.

The announcement came as Ukraine accused Iran Tehran of supplying Moscow with Shahed-136 “kamikaze” drones used in attacks on civilian targets since Russia’s invasion began in February last year.

At least tens of thousands of people are believed to have been killed in Europe’s worst armed conflict since World War Two.

Tehran and Moscow have increased military cooperation, despite Western concerns.
