NEW YORK (Worthy News) – Ex-U.S. President Donald J. Trump expects to be arrested Tuesday in Manhattan, New York, and urges his supporters to protest his looming indictment.

He made the announcement in an all-caps message to his many followers on the social media platform Truth Social.

“THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK,” he wrote. “PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!,” Trump added in a thundering appeal early Saturday.

Trump refers to an investigation for a $130,000 payment he made just before the 2016 election to allegedly silence adult film star Stormy Daniels about an alleged earlier affair.

The 76-year-old Trump has denied wrongdoing, and federal investigators ended their inquiry into the payments in 2019.

Danielle Filson, a spokesperson for Manhattan’s District Attorney’s office, declined to comment on the former president’s statement.

Sources said testimony from former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen, who arranged the payment and was convicted and served prison time, could help bring the first charges against a former president in U.S. history.

Trump faces several other potential indictments related to his business dealings and alleged role in the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.

He has vehemently denied the accusations, which he views as politically motivated.
