Trump’s Arrest Postponed But Still Expected

NEW YORK (Worthy News) – Amid protests, another day passed Wednesday without an indictment against former U.S. President Donald J. Trump, who had forecast he would be arrested on Tuesday.
Prosecutors in Manhattan, New York, postponed without any explanation a scheduled grand jury session Wednesday over Trump’s alleged hush money payments during his 2016 presidential campaign.
The payments included $130,000 before the election to allegedly silence adult film star Stormy Daniels about an alleged earlier affair.
The 76-year-old Trump has denied wrongdoing, and federal investigators ended their inquiry into the payments in 2019.
It was not immediately clear why the proceedings to charge Trump were postponed, but the grand jurors were told to be on standby for Thursday, another day when the New York panel has been meeting in recent weeks.
As tensions rose, opponents and fans held counter-rallies for and against the arrest of Trump.
The former president has denied wrongdoing saying the investigation, led by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, is “politically motivated.”
