Supreme Court rules with web designer in case related to LGBTQ+ rights, free speech

(Worthy News) – The Supreme Court on Friday ruled in favor of an evangelical Christian web designer who refuses to work on online, same-sex weddings.

In a 6-3 decision, the high court said Lorie Smith, as a creative professional, has a free speech right under the Constitution’s First Amendment to refuse to endorse messages with which she disagreed, according to NBC News.

Smith, as a result, cannot be punished under Colorado’s anti-discrimination law for refusing to design websites for gay couples, the court ruled. [ Source: Just the News (Read More…) ]
