MOSCOW (Worthy News) – Russia’s Russian Investigative Committee said Sunday that genetic testing confirmed that Wagner mercenaries group chief Yevgeny Prigozhin was among 10 people who died in a plane crash near Moscow.

The announcement was an attempt to put to rest doubts about whether mercenary leader turned mutineer was in the aircraft that crashed Wednesday, killing everyone on board.

Genetic testing on the 10 bodies recovered at the crash site “conform to the manifest ” for the flight, Russian Investigative Committee spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin had already expressed condolences to the families of Prigozhin and the other victims.

Some of his top lieutenants were on the list of seven passengers and three crew members.

The Investigative Committee did not indicate what might have caused the business jet to plummet from the sky halfway between Moscow and St. Petersburg, Prigozhin’s hometown.

The Kremlin denies causing the plane crash thought to have killed Prigozhin, but Britain and the United States have expressed their doubts.

Prigozhin, 62, led a brief June 23-24 mutiny against Russia’s military leadership that challenged the authority of President Putin with Wagner troops marching towards Moscow.
