IAEA Says Iran’s Nuclear Program Advancing Despite Calls to Reverse Course

(Worthy News) – Confidential reports from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reveal that Iran has accumulated enough uranium enriched to nearly 60% purity, approaching weapons-grade levels, and sufficient to manufacture at least three atom bombs.  Moreover, Iran continues to stonewall the IAEA on critical matters, as reported by Reuters, citing confidential IAEA reports.

Despite persistent calls for Iran to alter its course, the ongoing escalation of uranium enrichment to higher levels, coupled with Iran’s unwillingness to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency’s demands, intensifies an already tense situation.

According to a report seen by Reuters, Iran’s stockpile of uranium enriched up to 60% has grown by 6.7 kg (14.8 pounds) to 128.3 kg (282.9 pounds) over the past two months.

This quantity surpasses more than three times the roughly 42 kg (92.6 pounds), which, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency’s definition, is theoretically enough, if further enriched, for the development of a nuclear bomb.

Critics caution that Iran has the capability to rapidly enrich its substantial uranium stockpile to weapons-grade material, enabling the development of nuclear weapons, even though Iran publicly denies any intention of pursuing such weapons.

Yet, the credibility of these denials is eroded by the persistent calls from Iranian leaders for the “Death of Israel,” referring to it as the “Little Satan,” and advocating for the destruction of the United States, labeling it as the “Great Satan.” Such rhetoric casts doubt on their declarations of pursuing a nuclear bomb.

Over the years, Israeli officials have consistently stated publicly that they have no intention of engaging in a war with Iran. Nevertheless, they have reiterated their unequivocal stance, establishing a red line that Iran will not be permitted to acquire nuclear weapons.

As the conflict in Israel unfolds on two fronts, with Israel engaging in a war against Hamas in Gaza and participating in border crossing exchanges with Hezbollah on its northern border, the situation has the potential to escalate at any given moment, especially if Israel perceives that Iran is prepared to cross its nuclear threshold.
