Biden’s Failed Immigration Policy Projected to Cost Taxpayers $451 Billion Annually

(Worthy News) – The Biden administration’s failed immigration policy will cost taxpayers nearly half a trillion dollars per year, according to a Congressional report.

The House study estimates that the expenses associated with providing education, healthcare, law enforcement, and other expenditures due to the influx of millions of additional migrants could amount to as much as $451 billion annually.

The 49-page report implicated Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, accusing him of failing to control the unprecedented influx of migrants arriving at the US-Mexico border.

The surge in illegal immigration, fueled by Mayorkas’ open-border policies, has become an enormous financial burden on both the federal government and state governments, impacting the wallets of private citizens and businesses alike.

Under Mayorkas’ leadership, the costs borne by federal, state, and local entities to provide services to an unprecedented number of illegal aliens released into the interior have surged, the report stated.

Furthermore, the report criticized Mayorkas, asserting that the resources, originally intended to improve the quality of life for American citizens, have been redirected. Mayorkas’ policies, instead of enforcing immigration laws, appear to incentivize lawbreaking by providing a limitless stream of benefits to those who have opted not to comply with America’s immigration regulations.

The report concluded that Mayorkas’ policies have facilitated widespread misuse and abuse of taxpayer resources. His decisions and actions have incentivized millions of individuals to cross our borders illegally. Instead of detaining or removing them, as mandated by law, his department has released millions of illegal aliens into the United States with no apparent end in sight.

Since Biden assumed office in 2021, U.S. border agents have conducted over 5 million arrests of migrants engaged in irregular crossings, meaning they did not go through a controlled border station along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The report, authorized by Mark Green, the Republican Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, consolidates information from think tanks and various public sources. It incorporates the cost estimate of $451 billion from the Center for Immigration Studies, a right-wing think tank advocating for significant reductions in immigration to the US.
