(Worthy News) – The population of Israel is expected to pass 10 million in 2024, including a growing number of Christians, Israel365 News reports. CBS data also shows that Israel’s Christian population rose to around 187,900 representing 1.9% of the population and a 1.3% increase from the year before.

The CBS data shows that 75.3% of the Christians in Israel are ethnic Arabs making up 6.9% of the total Arab population. At the end of 2023, Israel’s 2,080,000 Arab citizens made up 21.1% of the overall population.

Notably, the population of Christians in Israel has grown as the number of Christians under the rule of the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank and under the rule of Hamas in Gaza has decreased.

Bethlehem had a 60% majority Christian population1990 but now has a 20% minority Christian community. Meanwhile, since Hamas took control of Gaza in 2006, the Christian population has decreased from 5,000 to 1,100 Christians today.
