(Worthy News) – U.S. Navy SEALs recently intercepted a vessel carrying Iranian-made missile components and other armaments intended for Yemen’s Houthi rebels. During this operation, conducted last week, two SEALs were reported missing, according to a statement released by the U.S. military on Tuesday.

Two Navy SEALs went missing in the Gulf of Aden near Somalia during an operation targeting a small vessel. This boat was later discovered transporting Iranian-made missile components and other weapons, intended for delivery to Yemen’s Houthi rebels.

The operation occurred on Thursday, January 11. The SEAL team, supported by drones and helicopters, embarked from the USS Lewis B. Puller. The U.S. military’s Central Command reported that the event unfolded in the Arabian Sea.

Central Command reported that during the inspection of the vessel, the SEALs discovered components for cruise and ballistic missiles, encompassing propulsion and guidance systems, as well as warheads used by the Houthis to attack merchant ships in the Red Sea.

“Initial analysis indicates these same weapons have been employed by the Houthis to threaten and attack innocent mariners on international merchant ships transiting in the Red Sea,” according to a Central Command statement.

Efforts to find the two missing SEALs are ongoing in the Gulf of Aden. U.S. Navy vessels and aircraft are still searching the region.
