WASHINGTON (Worthy News)— U.S. President Joe Biden has accused his predecessor, Donald J. Trump, of “bowing down” to “Russian dictator” Vladimir Putin amid signs that the House won’t pass the $95 billion package voted for Tuesday by the Senate.

He’s casting Trump and House Republicans who oppose the national security package as allies of the Russian leader in his invasion of Ukraine.

The package includes some $60 billion for Ukraine, $14 billion for Israel’s war against Hamas, and $10 billion for conflict zones such as Gaza.

Biden also condemned Trump for giving an “invitation” to Putin “to invade some of our allies, NATO allies. “He said [several days ago] if an ally didn’t spend enough money on defense, he would encourage Russia to quote, ‘Do whatever the hell they want.’”

Biden later added: “No other president in our history has ever bowed down to a Russian dictator. Let me say this as clearly as I can: I never will.”

He spoke as a leading national security adviser to Trump warned Tuesday that he would push for changes to the NATO military alliance if the former president returns to power that could result in some member states losing protection against an outside attack.

Keith Kellogg, a retired lieutenant general and onetime chief of staff of the former president’s National Security Council, commented in an interview with Reuters news agency.

He warned that if a member of the 31-country alliance failed to spend at least 2 percent of its gross domestic product on defense, he would support removing that nation’s Article 5 protections under the North Atlantic Treaty.
