(Worthy News) – A secretive Iranian military base that experts believe is connected to Tehran’s nuclear weapons program appears to have been damaged by Israel’s air strikes on Saturday, the Times of Israel (TOI) reports. Israel’s October 26 strikes were in retaliation for the barrage of some 200 ballistic missiles launched at the Jewish state by Iran’s Islamic regime on October 1.

Satellite photos analyzed by The Associated Press show several buildings at Iran’s Parchin military base were damaged. The UN’s International Atomic Energy Agency believes Iran used the Parchin base to test high explosives that could trigger a nuclear weapon, TOI reports.

The photos show additional damage at the Khojir military base close by, TOI reports. Khojir is a large missile production site near Tehran that experts contend has an underground tunnel system below it.

Iran has not confirmed attacks on either site, but did say that four Iranian soldiers were killed during the raid, TOI reports.

In a statement about the strikes, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday: “We promised we would respond to the Iranian attack and on Saturday we struck… The attack in Iran was precise and powerful, achieving all of its objectives.”
