NYC: Several dozen arrested as protestors demand all votes be counted

New York City police arrested several dozen people they said had tried to violently “hijack” an otherwise peaceful demonstration on Wednesday night, the Washington Examiner reports. While peaceful protestors demanded that every vote cast in the November 3 election is counted, police said others present had set fire to trash, thrown eggs, and other objects, and fought with officers. Activists condemned the arrests, including Joo-Hyun Kang, executive director of Communities United for Police Reform, who tweeted: “This is police violence.”
