NEW ORLEANS, USA (Worthy News) – Donald J. Trump became the first sitting U.S. president to attend a Super Bowl, accompanied by a large entourage, including his daughter Ivanka and son Eric.

The biggest night in American football unfolded Sunday in New Orleans under unprecedented security measures, just weeks after a deadly terrorist attack here on New Year’s morning claimed 14 lives.

While Trump was cheered, there was less enthusiasm for showbiz “stars,” with singer-songwriter Taylor Swift among those booed by a large crowd in the 83-seat Caesars Superdome stadium.

Trump supporters still remembered her endorsing his Democratic opponent, Kamala Harris, during the election campaign, a move that previously drew the current president’s scorn.

Swift, in attendance to support her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, also faced boos from sections of the crowd.

Swift’s night only worsened as the game unfolded. Kelce, who already faced scrutiny for being spotted at a restaurant with Swift just days before the Super Bowl, endured a brutal defeat.

His Chiefs were overwhelmed by the Philadelphia Eagles, who surged to a commanding 24-0 lead before halftime. Eventually, the Philadelphia Eagles clinched this year’s Super Bowl with an emphatic 40-22 victory over defending champions the Kansas City Chiefs.

MOOD CHANGING

Yet the boos for Hollywood’s darlings also underscored a broader sense that the mood has changed in America towards more traditional values, some conservatives suggested.

“Taylor Swift got mercilessly booed. Trump got a hero’s welcome. Total culture shift,” ‘End Wokeness’ wrote on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

The night’s musical performances also drew criticism. Grammy-winning singer Jon Batiste delivered the national anthem, but his jazzy interpretation of The Star-Spangled Banner was met with mixed reactions.

While past renditions have brought players and coaches to tears, this time, the emotion in the stadium appeared to stem from disappointment rather than patriotic pride.

Trump, en route to the game aboard Air Force One, also made headlines by announcing new global tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, which caught traveling journalists off guard.

Yet, for now, he seemed to enjoy the ride: The announcement came after earlier in the day, he received relatively strong approval ratings in a CBS News broadcaster poll.

The survey showed 53 percent of Americans backing Trump, with 70 percent saying “he is delivering on his campaign promises” for now.
