(Worthy News) – Four FEMA employees were fired for approving a $59M payment to house illegal migrants in NYC, according to DHS. The decision came after Elon Musk criticized federal spending on ‘luxury hotels’ for migrants.

“Effective immediately, FEMA is terminating the employment of four individuals for circumventing leadership to unilaterally make egregious payments for luxury NYC hotels for migrants,” DHS officials said in a statement.

Fox first reported that the fired employees include FEMA’s Chief Financial Officer, two program analysts, and a grant specialist.

“Under President Trump and Secretary Noem’s leadership, DHS will not sit idly and allow deep state activists to undermine the will and safety of the American people,” the statement added.

Musk claimed on X that his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) “discovered” FEMA had sent over $50 million to “luxury” hotels for “migrant housing,” violating the president’s executive order on immigration crackdown.

“That money is meant for American disaster relief and instead is being spent on high-end hotels for illegals,” Musk posted on X on Monday — and promised DOGE would be making “a clawback demand … to recoup those funds.”

Trump echoed Musk’s criticism of FEMA in a Truth Social post Tuesday, accusing the agency of mismanaging funds, failing to assist North Carolina, and stating it should be “TERMINATED.”
