(Worthy News) – Hamas operatives kidnapped, tortured, and executed 22-year-old Oday Nasser Al Rabay after he joined anti-Hamas protests in Gaza last week, his family said Sunday.

Rabay’s body was dumped outside his family’s home over the weekend. Dozens joined his funeral on Saturday, with mourners chanting, “Hamas out, out!”

Hamas has reportedly threatened Palestinians protesting its rule, but Rabay’s death is the first confirmed killing linked to the demonstrations.

The protests, which spread across Gaza over three days last week, called for an end to Hamas’s rule and its conflict with Israel.

Hamas claims the protests targeted Israel despite video and eyewitness evidence showing demonstrators directly opposing the terror group’s rule in Gaza.

According to Israel’s public broadcaster Kan, some Hamas leaders are weighing the release of a few hostages to secure a Ramadan truce and calm public unrest. Efforts to crack down on protests have reportedly been hampered by ongoing Israeli strikes targeting operatives spotted in the open.
