(Worthy News) – The Trump administration on Thursday announced sweeping new sanctions aimed at crippling Iran’s oil revenue and its ability to fund terrorism and develop nuclear weapons.

The State and Treasury Departments targeted six entities, four vessels, and a smuggling network led by Iraqi-British national Salim Ahmed Said for helping Iran covertly export oil and petrochemicals. Several companies in the UAE, India, and Panama were also sanctioned for transporting Iranian petroleum.

The crackdown also includes sanctions on Hezbollah’s financial arm, Al-Qard Al-Hassan, and its senior officials for hiding millions in transactions benefiting the terrorist group.

“Today, the United States is taking action to stem the flow of revenue that the regime uses to support destabilizing activity and oppress its people,” said State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the administration would continue targeting “Tehran’s revenue sources” to keep up economic pressure. “We are committed to dismantling the financial architecture Iran uses to fund its malign activities,” he said.

Thursday’s action is among the most expansive enforcement rounds in recent months, reinforcing President Trump’s determination to undercut Iran’s regional ambitions and ensure its nuclear program remains crippled.
