(Worthy News) – In a sweeping move to stake America’s claim in the global artificial intelligence arms race, President Donald Trump on Wednesday unveiled a comprehensive AI strategy aimed at deregulating the industry, accelerating innovation, and asserting international leadership–firmly casting the United States as the future epicenter of AI advancement.

The 25-page “America’s AI Action Plan,” released by the White House and backed by a trio of new executive orders, outlines a bold agenda: cut red tape, expand data infrastructure, and counter the Chinese Communist Party’s AI ambitions. President Trump called the initiative a declaration that “the United States will do whatever it takes to lead the world in artificial intelligence.”

“We’re still in the earliest days of one of the most important technological revolutions in human history,” Trump said during a tech summit hosted by the All-In Podcast. “AI is not artificial–it’s genius. And America will be the nation that unleashes it to its full, world-changing potential.”

Sweeping Deregulation and Infrastructure Push

Central to Trump’s initiative is a radical deregulatory push. The plan revokes Biden-era AI safeguards, strips environmental and ideological constraints, and prohibits federal agencies from procuring AI tools rooted in partisan frameworks or “social engineering agendas,” including diversity, equity, and climate-based algorithms.

Trump’s executive orders direct federal agencies to expedite permitting for AI infrastructure–namely massive data centers and semiconductor facilities–by bypassing environmental reviews and unlocking access to federal lands. One order threatens to withhold federal funding from states that impose their own AI regulations, a move immediately condemned by civil liberties and privacy groups.

“American AI development must be free from ideological bias or woke agendas,” said White House AI czar David Sacks. “Our goal is to build AI that seeks truth, not programs political correctness.”

Public-Private Alliance and Global Vision

The strategy also leverages public-private partnerships, highlighted by the announcement of a massive expansion of the Stargate Project. Led by Oracle, OpenAI, SoftBank, and MGX, the initiative pledges $500 billion to U.S.-based AI infrastructure over four years, creating over 100,000 jobs. The effort will add 4.5 gigawatts of data center capacity–an energy demand likened by Trump officials to fueling a second industrial revolution.

Vice President J.D. Vance praised the momentum, warning that international pressure to regulate U.S. tech firms is a “terrible mistake” that will hinder innovation. “Over-regulation will not birth the future. Unleashing American genius will,” he said.

The plan’s international section outlines efforts to counter China’s influence in AI governance bodies and proposes evaluating Chinese AI models for Communist Party alignment. At the same time, it promotes U.S. dominance through tech exports and AI diplomacy.

Critics Slam Industry-Centric Agenda

Despite its ambitious tone, Trump’s AI plan faced immediate backlash from over 100 civil groups, including labor unions, privacy advocates, and environmental organizations. They argue the plan prioritizes corporate profits over human rights, fair labor practices, and environmental protections.

“This plan is a handout to billionaires,” said J.B. Branch of Public Citizen. “It will spike electricity rates for families to subsidize data centers for Big Tech.”

Alan Butler of the Electronic Privacy Information Center called the action plan “a corporate wish list” that “sacrifices accountability and fairness in favor of speed and profit.”

A High-Stakes Global Race

Trump, however, remained undeterred. “We invented this technology, and we’ll lead the world with it,” he said. “Joe Biden wanted to lose the AI race. I intend to win it–for our economy, for our security, and for the future of civilization.”

White House officials said the plan–crafted after over 10,000 responses to a federal request for comment–will be executed within the next year and will drive AI policy across every federal agency, from education to defense.

As nations scramble to control the most powerful technology since the internet, Trump’s message is clear: American AI will be fast, free, and formidable.
