(Worthy News) – U.S. President Donald Trump declared the Gaza war officially over at a summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, where he unveiled a sweeping 20-point peace framework and the creation of a “Board of Peace” — an international body that will guide Gaza’s transition toward civilian governance and reconstruction.

“This is the day that people across the region and around the world have been working, striving, hoping and praying for,” Trump said as he signed the historic Gaza peace accord alongside the leaders of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey. “Together, we’ve achieved what everybody said was impossible. At long last, we have peace in the Middle East.”

Trump’s plan envisions Gaza being governed temporarily by a council of Palestinian technocrats under international supervision, with reconstruction financed by a coalition of nations “of great wealth and dignity.” He said several countries have already pledged major commitments.

“For the people of Gaza, the focus now must be on restoring the basics of a good life,” Trump said. “We’re going to have a lot of money coming into Gaza and a lot of rebuilding. But none of it will fund hatred, bloodshed, or terror as in the past.”

He emphasized that Gaza’s reconstruction must coincide with full demilitarization and the establishment of a new, professional civilian police force to ensure stability. “We’ve all agreed that Gaza must be rebuilt for its people, not for war,” he said.

In his remarks, Trump thanked Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan — whom he called “always there when I need him.” He also extended thanks to Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the UAE, Pakistan, and Indonesia.

In a surprise gesture, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif interrupted the proceedings to announce that he was nominating Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize “in recognition of his leadership in ending the Gaza conflict.” Trump appeared caught off guard, replying, “Wow, I didn’t expect that.”

Trump noted that the final push to the Gaza deal began on the sidelines of last month’s UN General Assembly, when he met with leaders of eight Arab and Muslim nations. “The first steps to peace are always the hardest, and today we’ve taken them together,” he said. “From this moment forward, we can build a region that’s strong, stable, prosperous, and united in rejecting the path of terror once and for all.”

He also called for a renewal of the Abraham Accords, declaring, “I hope everybody is going to join now — there are no more excuses. We don’t have a Gaza, and we don’t have an Iran as an excuse.”

After his formal address, Trump joked with assembled leaders, telling them that those interested in joining the “Board of Peace” should “let us know — we’ll be drawing some names.”
