Iranian Missile Strikes Injure 175 in Southern Israel as Netanyahu Warns of Expanding Threat

(Worthy News) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Saturday night was “a very difficult evening in the campaign for our future” after Iranian ballistic missiles struck the southern cities of Dimona and Arad, injuring at least 175 people and causing significant damage to civilian neighborhoods.
The strikes, part of the ongoing war under “Operation Roaring Lion,” mark one of the largest casualty events since the conflict began on Feb. 28, reflecting a sharp escalation between Israel and Iran.
After speaking with local mayors, Netanyahu urged citizens to follow Home Front Command instructions and take shelter during alerts, while reaffirming Israel’s resolve.
“We are determined to continue striking our enemies on all fronts,” he said.
Civilian Areas Hit Hard
Israel’s Magen David Adom reported that a missile strike in Dimona wounded 31 people, including one seriously and one moderately. Hours later, a second missile hit Arad, injuring at least 115 people, including children, with several listed in serious condition. Many were transported to Soroka Medical Center in Beersheva.
First responders described a chaotic scene as teams treated casualties amid heavy destruction.
“This was a very serious scene,” said EMT Yakir Talker. “We saw many patients with varying degrees of injury.”
Authorities said about 20 buildings in Arad were damaged, with several at risk of collapse and three slated for demolition. Between 100 and 150 families are expected to be displaced.
Officials emphasized that those who remained in bomb shelters were unharmed, underscoring the critical importance of following safety directives.
George Whitten, Director of Worthy Ministries, reported that at least three believers were injured in Arad, with multiple homes belonging to believers destroyed in the attack.
