NEW DELHI, INDIA (Worthy News)-- More than 50 Hindu nationalists attacked the pastor of the Pentecostal Fellowship Prayer group and a dozen families of his community on June 15.

Twenty Christians were injured as their homes were looted.

The attack, which took place in Balasore district, was "meant to terrify the Christian minority," said Sajan George, president of the Global Council of Indian Christians. "They want to repeat what happened in 2008, with the anti-Christian pogroms in the Kandhamal district."

A few days before the attack, local police at Brahmagiri seized more than 50 home-made bombs hidden in a hut in the village of Gambhari; the explosives were intended to start a new anti-Christian pogrom, similar to the attacks in Kandhamal in 2008.

Between December 2007 and August 2008, Hindu nationalists killed 93 people, looted and burned more than 6,000 homes and destroyed 350 churches, displacing tens of thousands of Christians; today, there are still 10,000 refugees.

  1. It is obvious that we are to dust our feet off and go elsewhere.  God is a God of "free will."  He doesn't force Christianity on people, so "religion" again is killing our people because of ignorance. We are to obey the laws of the land.  If they say no church, then no church.  You leave them.  God has to "rake them over the coals" until they humble themselves to Him and obey.  What are U doing in HIS way???

  2. We shake the dust off our feet when God tells us to and not a moment before.  If it comes down to God's law or Man's, and man's law goes against God's, then God's law prevails.  Jesus did not stop telling people who he was even onto death.  The Apostles, with the exception of John, died refusing to stop telling people about Jesus.   No Tarajranch, it is not ignorance to continue telling people about the saving grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is not a forced thing.  It is the Holy Spirit touching us on the inside.  Tarajranch, may I suggest a bit more study of the Bible?  The Lord uses us and we need to accept that this may lead to rejection and persecution.  May I suggest Mark 13:9-13; Mark 16:14-20; Luke 9:23-26; Luke 12:4-12; John 15:18-20. The book of Acts will also give you good insight into the Apostles and their following of the Word.  God bless you and help you to see what Christ wants to use you for during these perilous times.
