Iranian Pastor Injured by Prison Guards

By Joseph DeCaro, Worthy News Correspondent

TEHRAN, IRAN (Worthy News)– An imprisoned Iranian pastor was injured in an attack by his own guards last week, according to Barnabas Aid.

Pastor Farshid Fathi was among several prisoners hospitalized after a raid on their ward by about 100 guards.

During the assault of Evin Prison’s notorious Ward 350 — which holds political prisoners and prisoners of conscience — guards assaulted inmates who had previously protested an overly aggressive search of their cells.

Dozens of prisoners were injured in the raid. Farshid — who is serving a six-year sentence — suffered a broken foot and toe.

Despite numerous reports about the attack, the head of Iran’s prisons denied there had been any beatings of prisoners by their guards.
