(Worthy News)-- House Republicans are working to revive the trade bill squashed last week by Democrats led by Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, The New York Times reports.
Democrats handed President Barack Obama an embarrassing defeat when they voted down the bill that would give him the power to approve trade deals without amendments. The bill would make it easier to bring other nations into the Trans-Pacific Partnership deal.
Republicans are now looking at other options, including bringing more in their own party on board. But that could be a hard sell, since Republicans have traditionally opposed the aid for workers, and they would have to convince about 90 of them to switch sides, the Times noted. --[wp_colorbox_media url="http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/boehner-house-republicans-trade-agenda/2015/06/15/id/650665/" type="iframe" hyperlink="Source"]
