John Boehner coup: Rep. Mark Meadows files motion to oust House Speaker

(Worthy News) - Tea party champion Rep. Mark Meadows filed a motion Tuesday to oust House Speaker John A. Boehner from his leadership post, escalating the feud between a faction of conservative lawmakers and the Republican leadership, the Washington Times reported.

Mr. Meadows, North Carolina Republican, filed a motion to “vacate the chair,” which could force a no-confidence vote by the full chamber and result in the removal of Mr. Boehner as speaker.

In the resolution, Mr. Meadows says Mr. Boehner, Ohio Republican, “has endeavored to consolidate power and centralize decision-making, bypassing the majority of the 435 Members of Congress and the people they represent.”

He accused the speaker of limiting debate, pushing legislation to the brink to compel votes in a state of crisis, and moving to “punish Members who vote according to their conscience” instead of how he wants. [ Source ]

  1. Let's start with John and then get rid of the rest of the Republican traitors.
If they are not there helping America they are harming America. SO sick of the empty promises, they need to man up and be counted.

  2. Would love to see Boehner along with most of Congress/Senate cleaned out. Anyone who has been in Congress or Senate more than two terms should be removed. The president is limited to two terms well I believe the Congress and Senate should also be limited. This would give us new blood and ideas coming in on a regular basis.

  3. Read an article about this being bad timing, though.
**"Republicans had plotted an August agenda to hammer Democrats on the Iran nuclear deal, funding Planned Parenthood, sanctuary cities for illegal immigrants, targeting by the IRS, Hillary Clinton's emails and ObamaCare.
    And now ..."**
Do we want these issues to be distracted from?
