(Washington, DC) — The American Center for Law and Justice, an international public interest law firm, today applauded the U.S. House of Representatives for approving the Unborn Victims of Violence Act, which makes it a federal crime to harm an unborn child.

“We are extremely pleased with the outcome of the vote in the House,” said Jay Sekulow, Chief Counsel of the ACLJ. “This is an important move toward protecting the unborn from acts of violence. The fact that the measure was approved by such a wide margin underscores the reality that many Americans do want to see the unborn child protected from acts of violence. We will work aggressively to see that this measure passes the Senate and is signed by the President. If enacted into law, we will defend any legal challenges to this most critical measure.”
